About Reddit Video Downloader
An independent browser tool that saves public Reddit videos with sound. It is not affiliated with Reddit.
Who publishes this site
Video Link Download is an independent browser tool. It reads a public Reddit post, finds the separate video and audio files Reddit published, and merges them on your device.
Reddit uses DASH, so the picture and the sound are separate files. The merge uses FFmpeg in your browser. The finished MP4 is not uploaded back to this site. Questions go to hello@videolinkdownload.com.
Why This Site Exists
Reddit delivers multimedia by separating video and audio into distinct tracks. As a result, users attempting to save videos using conventional browser right-clicks or built-in mobile downloaders frequently end up with muted, silent videos.
Video Link Download exists so you can save that public clip with the sound included, in the browser, at no charge:
- Stream Merging with Sound: Combines visual and audio tracks in crisp 1080p and 720p without silent playback.
- Zero Software Installs: Operates entirely in your web browser across iOS Safari, Android Chrome, and desktop platforms.
- No File Storage on Servers: Your media assembly happens client-side; our servers never archive your files.
- Completely Free: No registration, no subscriptions, and no paywalls.
Service Limitations & Boundaries
To preserve platform security and respect digital rights, Video Link Download operates within clear boundaries:
- No Access to Private Subreddits: Video Link Download does not ask for or store user passwords. Consequently, it cannot fetch media from private, quarantined, or restricted subreddits that require authentication.
- Deleted or Removed Content: If a creator has deleted their Reddit post or if an external hosting provider (such as Imgur or Gfycat) has removed the file, our tool cannot recover the lost media.
- Source Quality Ceiling: Downloaded resolution matches what the creator originally uploaded. If a video was uploaded in 480p or as a silent GIF, our tool cannot artificially upscale it or fabricate non-existent audio.
- Copyright Compliance: Video Link Download is designed for archival of public content you have the right to download. Users are solely responsible for respecting creator copyright.
